The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are looking for students to take part in the Spring 2017 Education Internship – Monet Monday School Programs.  This internship is an unmatched entry-level opportunity for participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the functions of FAMSF’s permanent school programs, and offers a chance for interns to actively support the program’s mission while collaborating with staff, docents, and other interns.  This internship is unique in its short duration and in depth access to program implementation offering an ideal opportunity to for students interested in history, art, and education.

RAW Académie is a tuition-free residential experiential study programme for artistic and curatorial thought and practice inquiry of eight weeks in Dakar. It is dedicated to a lively reflection on artistic research, curatorial practice and critical writing. The academy is held during two distinct sessions per year: October–December and April–June. Each session is directed by a Lead Faculty who has displayed an off-the-beaten-track practice in regard to artistic, curatorial and critical imagination. Session 2 is led by Chimurenga, the Cape Town based pan-African platform for writing, art and politics. It takes place from April 3 to May 26, 2017.

LOS ANGELES ARTADIA AWARDS 2017

The Los Angeles Artadia Awards are open to visual artists who have lived or worked in Los Angeles County for at least two years. Individual artists and collaboratives working in all media, and at any stage in their career are strongly encouraged to apply. Artadia Awardees are selected through a two-tier jury process that combines local expertise with outside perspective from leading curators and artists. Two Awardees will be selected from the Finalist pool to receive unrestricted Artadia Awards of $10,000.

APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR 2017 RESIDENCY IN BRITTANY, FRANCE

The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is now accepting applications for the 2017 session of The Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists in Brittany, France. 

The selection committee seeks four to eight artists whose mix of media, approaches, styles and focus will create a dynamic and collegial community. In particular, we are looking for artists who can use the specific character of our residency experience productively. The residency is open to all practicing visual artists regardless of affiliation or citizenship who are not students at the time of application. Competitive residencies are open to all practicing non-student visual artists and artist-couples working in any media and regardless of their affiliation and nationality. 

The Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists provides time for uninterrupted work in an inspiring and historic setting made unique by Brittany’s extraordinary light, distinctive landscape and rich cultural traditions. The program awards successful applicants with free housing and studio space in the village of Léhon. Residents are responsible for most meals and incidental expenses. MICA charges no fees for application to or participation in the Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program for Artists.
