Occupy Museums are hosting a project at the Whitney to highlight art and debt. It’s an extension of www.debtfair.org. All artists who join will have their work displayed digitally at the biennial, and 30 artists will be selected to show a piece in person, based not on name or visual style but on patterns relating directly to the debts such as institution, etc. The point of the project is to powerfully and visibly organize around economic realities in the arts.
